Senior Project Designer

We are looking for an architecture-trained designer responsible for supporting and executing the day-to-day production of architecture design intent documents for retail and/or restaurants. You may serve as a lead on client projects to ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Uses AutoCAD and SketchUp to produce models and detailed architectural design intent documents for retail and restaurants
• Collaborate with cross functional project team including designers, client service, merchandisers, strategists, etc.
• Recognizes potential problems and recommends solutions
• Collaborates with team leads to capture accurate information
• Business correspondence and direct interaction with clients expected
• Participates in site surveys
• Reviews any adaptations needed to allow design fit within existing structure
• Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards and client requirements
• Maintains required documentation of all projects and drawings generated
• Ensures proper back up procedures are carried out to reduce lost data
• Monitors quality, accuracy and consistency of documents, details and any graphics
• Assists in the development of standards that will ensure document quality and accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Master’s degree a plus
• Must have previous experience developing design intent documents for retail and restaurant environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Proficiency in the application of architectural design standards, practices, techniques and concepts
• High proficiency in AutoCAD
• Site survey experience is a plus
• Revit experience is a plus
• Solid organization and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain required performance level in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines
• Must have exceptional standards for quality and a strong attention to detail
• Must be able to work autonomously, as well as within a team
