Account Manager

Working under the guidance of the Account Director, the Account Manager manages clients and projects by driving agency development process and following up on day-to-day activities to ensure successful completion of work within given deadlines. In our highly collaborative environment, you will be working with strategy, creative, production and digital teams to deliver high quality and compelling work. The ideal candidate should be strong at building and nurturing client relationships, and a driven, analytical and strategic professional.

Responsibilities

To our clients:

  • Maintains understanding of client’s business, brand, category, consumers and its competitors in order to deliver the highest quality of work and provide added value for the client
  • Creates and nurtures strong client relationships
  • Develops trust with clients by providing counsel, recommendations, and sound judgment
  • Organizes and articulates agency POVs and best practices based on sound rationale and previous experience to sell through new ideas and concepts
  • Manages client budgets, scope, and expectations regarding timing, schedules, and process
  • Issues and updates written weekly status and conference call reports following meetings to ensure client and agency are in agreement
  • Attends client meetings and proactively initiates agency next steps
  • Works with client and internal teams to set realistic goals and timing expectations
  • Develops proactive business-building ideas for client and agency

  • Communicates client’s business plans, feedback, and opportunities to agency leadership
  • Drives efficiency in agency process; stays up to date on industry trends/market dynamics
  • Collaborates cross-functionally on strategic direction for account and work streams
  • Works with strategy to develop strong case studies annually
  • Anticipates, troubleshoots and assists in the resolution of problems
  • Supports Account Director in contributing to strategic approach for client programs, plans and projects
  • Assists in writing proposals/SOWs; supports Account Director in annual planning
  • Champions agency work and process to ensure high quality of work – understanding each project scope, milestone dates, status and resourcing needs
  • Positively contributes to and maintains agency culture of inclusivity and collaboration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, PR/Communications, Business or related field
  • Minimum of five years client service/account management or project management experience on agency side
  • Excellent listening skills and verbal and written communications
  • Must have a critical eye for details
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to resolve conflicting information/situations
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thrives at building relationships and understanding how to adapt to different personalities
  • Ability to be calm and flexible under pressure and during times of change
  • Capable of working independently and/or with team; must be open to wearing multiple hats outside of job role
  • Strong understanding of project budgets and proposal writing/estimates and how project and budget management impact account and agency profitability
  • Comfort and skill presenting work and sharing pertinent project information to client and internal team
