design:retail has announced its 40 Under 40 class of 2020, highlighting distinguished future leaders of the retail industry. Big Red Rooster is proud to announce that our own Amy Sjursen, Director, Architecture, has been included in this prestigious list.
Sjursen, a licensed architect with over 15 years of experience in the retail design world, recently joined Big Red Rooster, a JLL company in 2019. She possesses a critical eye for detail, determination for succeeding, and works meticulously as an advocate for her clients’ visions – using her keen eye for marrying flexibility with refinement to deliver exceptional work.
She has an expansive portfolio of high-volume retail rollouts covering department, in-line, freestanding, and pop-up locations. Her work is featured in some of New York’s most iconic and landmark buildings, including the Flatiron Building where she helped a West Coast brand navigate the complexities of the New York architecture world.
Working nationally with some of the largest brands in the retail and restaurant industries, Sjursen continues to grow her portfolio while still remaining true to her roots – preserving the legacy of architectural assets. Globally recognized brands such as Ascena Retail Group, Equinox, California Closets, TJX, Krispy Kreme, and Pure Fitness have all benefited from her expertise.
“I am sincerely honored to be nominated to the 2020 40 Under 40 class,” says Sjursen. “I am joined along with an amazing group of colleagues across the industry. This award is truly not just about me but the entire team behind the scenes that has worked so hard to create beautiful architecture.”
The 40 Under 40 class of 2020 will be featured in the May/June issue of design:retail magazine.
