OhioHealth, a family of not-for-profit hospitals and healthcare organizations, has served families in Central Ohio since 1891. As the healthcare system continued to grow and expand, OhioHealth approached Big Red Rooster to articulate its corporate culture and embody cultural expressions and values, supporting patients, families, staff, and the entire community.

Our team used conclusions and findings from initial research to create a vision for a “hospital of the future.” The Cultural Model designs culture from the inside out, taking the patient perspective and staff’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors into account. Our team used the customer experience and various customer journey scenarios to provide insight and embody the Cultural Model within environmental design.

Working closely with an expanded team of architects, consultants, medical professionals, and OhioHealth executives, Big Red Rooster captured and articulated the new culture and created an experience design foundation that directed the design of all future hospitals.
